Terms of Service
These terms explain what RehabCounter is, what it is not, and the conduct expected from everyone who uses the service. By creating an account or continuing to use RehabCounter, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
A self-improvement counter
RehabCounter provides personal counters, journaling-style posts, community interaction, reminders, and general guidance intended to help users reflect on progress. It does not guarantee a particular recovery, health, legal, or personal outcome.
Not medical advice or treatment
RehabCounter is not a healthcare provider and does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, monitor withdrawal, or create a clinician-patient relationship. Site content and community posts cannot replace individualized advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Talk with a qualified professional before starting, stopping, or changing medication, treatment, or any medically supervised recovery plan.
Not an emergency or crisis service
The service is not monitored as an emergency channel or crisis line. If you may be in immediate danger, at risk of harming yourself or another person, or experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified crisis resource immediately.
Not a law-enforcement service
RehabCounter is not a police, investigative, probation, parole, court, regulatory, or emergency-response authority. It does not replace contacting appropriate authorities. Each user remains responsible for complying with applicable laws and legal obligations.
No illegal, exploitative, or dangerous activity
You may not use RehabCounter to promote, facilitate, solicit, instruct, coordinate, or materially support:
- illegal drug production, sale, purchase, or trafficking;
- violence, threats, exploitation, abuse, or self-harm;
- evasion of lawful authorities or obstruction of lawful processes;
- fraud, harassment, unauthorized access, or any other illegal activity; or
- content that places another person or the community at serious risk.
Violations may result in content removal, immediate suspension, or a permanent ban. Where legally required, the service may preserve or disclose information in response to valid legal process. Good-faith recovery discussion, personal experiences, and requests for support are welcome.
Use the service responsibly
Treat others with respect. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, expose private information, manipulate recovery choices, or present personal opinions as professional medical or legal advice. You are responsible for the content you post and for protecting your account credentials.
Uploaded media must be safe and permitted
Posts may contain no more than four attachments. Supported formats and limits are JPG, PNG, and WebP images up to 8 MB each; MP3 audio up to 20 MB; and MP4 or WebM video up to 40 MB. Other, renamed, spoofed, executable, encrypted, or technically invalid files are prohibited.
You may upload only media you created or have permission to share. Uploaded media must not contain graphic harm, sexual exploitation, hate, harassment, private personal information, dangerous or self-harm instructions, illegal-activity or substance-use promotion, false medical claims, impersonation, or unlicensed copyrighted material. Attachments may remain private while awaiting review and may be rejected or removed.
Every new profile picture and post image is technically validated and safety-screened before publication. Automated screening may approve an image or send it to a staff moderator; an unavailable or uncertain automatic result also requires staff review. Audio and video require staff review. Your current profile picture remains visible while a replacement is pending. This process checks content safety—it does not verify identity, ownership, age, or authenticity.
Community content may be incomplete
Users may share personal experiences that are inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Use your own judgment and consult an appropriate qualified professional when a decision could affect your health, safety, legal rights, or treatment.
Access depends on following these terms
You must provide accurate registration information, be at least 18 years old, and keep your account secure. RehabCounter may remove content or restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, meet legal obligations, or preserve service security.
Paid features are optional
RehabCounter Premium provides optional personalization, private reflection, descriptive analytics, exports, and similar convenience features. Core counters, community participation, messaging, and safety information remain available without a paid membership. Premium does not provide medical care or promise improved recovery outcomes.
Subscription prices, billing frequency, taxes, trial terms, and any promotion are shown before payment. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may manage or cancel through the secure billing portal; cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. Refunds are handled according to the checkout terms and any rights required by applicable law. Contact us promptly if you believe a charge is incorrect.
Payments are processed by Stripe. RehabCounter does not store complete payment-card numbers. Premium access is activated and removed from verified payment-provider events, and attempting to manipulate membership status or payment records may result in suspension.
The service is provided as available
Features may change, experience interruptions, or contain errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, RehabCounter does not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or that use of a counter or community feature will produce a particular result.
Your information and future revisions
Our Privacy Policy describes how information is handled. These terms may be revised as the service changes. When a revision requires renewed consent, the site may ask you to review and accept the new version before continuing.
